Rang 1 Walk to Finuge
On Thursday 17th June, Rang 1 went on a walking tour of Finuge. We were greeted at the Thatched House in Finuge village by Jimmy Deenihan, who gave us a brief history of the house. We saw where the open fire was and he showed us how people long ago cooked on it. We learned all about the thatched roof on the house and how it was made. But most interesting of all was the metal hook attached to the wall, where Jimmy told us the cow would have been tied up!
We also visited the Millenium gardens and we took some time to sketch the beautiful flowers planted there. After this, we walked to Finuge GAA pitch and played lots of games. We ended the day with an ice-cream party back at school. It was a great day of learning and fun.
