2021/ 2022
In March 2022, the government of Ireland and NPHET gave the go-ahead for inter-schools sporting events to recommence. This was met with great delight among our pupils.
Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Football
The first groups to take to the playing surfaces in a competitive setting were our Cumann na mBunscol football teams. Both boys and girls sides enjoyed getting back to the training field and having fun with their peers in Páirc Dromcloch.
The boys were first in action winning their group and reaching a county semi-final.
Our girls football team did equally as well in winning two games and getting to a county semi-final. Well done to all the players that competed and did the school proud in their competitions.

Well done to 6th class pupil Jamie Breen who was selected to play for the Kerry Primary Game team at half-time during the Munster Senior Football Final in Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney in May.
Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Cross Country Running
It was great to see the return of cross country running to schools. This is a unique event that does not require any level of expertise to compete in while offering opportunities to individuals to partake in sport as opposed to organised team events. In keeping with the Daily Mile, cross country running promotes physical health and we had a strong uptake for this activity within the school. Many pupils took to the field to run, jog or even happily walk their way along the route.
From this, teams were chosen to go forward to the County Finals held in Caherslee Tralee in April. Over 100 runners competed in each race highlighting its popularity in the schools sporting calendar. The competition was fierce and a brilliant spectacle to watch in lovely spring sunshine. All of our boys and girls ran their hearts out and did exceptionally well in hot conditions. Particular mention to the 3rd/4th boys team who won a team silver medal - maith sibh!

Primary School Sports
Over the years we have a very fine record in the track and field events and once again our pupils excelled in competition. We had a number of successes in North Kerry where we retained our title of Overall Best School.
County Finals were held at An Ríocht in June where we came away with a haul of medals.
Well done to all that competed both at local and county level and wore the school jersey with pride and distinction. Credit must also go to Listowel AC whom many of our athletes are a member of and develop their skills on a regular basis.
