Grandparents' Day 2024
This year Catholic Schools Week took place from Mon. 22nd - Fri. 26th January. The theme for 2024 was: Catholic Schools: Communities of Service. A community can be defined as "a group of people who live in the same area and share common interests." The biggest common interest that we possess in the school community is the children in our care. Never is that more evident each year than on Grandparents' Day.
This year, the Halla Mór was full to the brim as proud grandparents, parents and members of the extended school community came to join their loved ones. Two events took place - one for the Infants - Rang 2 followed by Rang 3-6. Pupils and those in attendence took part in a prayer service to celebrate the special occasion and then classes wowed the audience with a variety of music, song, dance and even a game of Bingo that kept everybody entertained.
A selection of photos from the day can be seen below.

Mrs. Trench and Mrs. Foran
Over the past number of months we have waved goodbye to two of our longest serving and highly esteemed teachers, Mrs. Trench and Mrs. Foran.
Firstly, In June, we had the retirement of Mrs. Trench. A big celebration of her many years of service and dedication to Dromclough National School were celebrated amongst her family, friends and work colleagues, both past and present. Then, in October, Mrs. Foran decided to retire from her position after 40 years of teaching in Dromclough. Another huge celebration was enjoyed by all in the school community and her family.
Both Mrs. Trench and Mrs. Foran leave behind rich legacies of their time in Dromclough and we wish them every health and happiness in their retirements.
Below are a selection of photos from these two special occasions.

County Titles for Local Clubs
September 2023, the start of a new school year and we were absolutely thrilled to welcome two local teams to the school to celebrate big successes. Firstly, we were joined by Crotta O' Neills GAA after they won the Co. Hurling Final for the first time in 55 years! Not long after this and we had another special occasion as St. Senans/Finuge LGFA came to the school after winning their first ever Co. Senior Football Final! Two momentous occasions in which many past pupils of Dromclough N.S. were victorious. It was wonderful to have them in with us!
