6th Class 2020 say ‘Slán’ to Dromclough NS
It is my pleasure to speak on behalf of the 6th class Graduates of 2020.
This is not a typical Graduation Ceremony, but then again there is nothing typical about this great bunch! We are kind, caring, unique & multi-talented. We are footballers, hurlers, soccer players & athletes. We are artists, musicians, farmers & animators. We are funny but never at anyone’s expense. We are quiet but confident.
I have very happy memories of my time in Dromclough N.S. The celebrations of the Sacraments of Communion & Confirmation were special. Indeed, our Confirmation Day on 28th February was probably the last time we were able to celebrate a happy occasion with our family & friends.
I also have many happy memories of all our school tours, including our trips to Bunratty Castle, Valentia Island, Crag Caves & many more.
We enjoyed great success at the Primary School Sports when Dromclough relay teams showed other schools how it was done and won all round!
This year our Cumann na mBunscol football team went on an incredible journey, making it all the way to the grand final in Austin Stack Park!
Grandparents Day was always a special day on the Dromclough calendar when we were proud to welcome our beloved Grandparents into our school.
One of the highlights of each year was the Student’s V Teacher’s challenge game of soccer. This year due to the Covid pandemic, the teachers had a lucky escape!
As we set off on the next stage of our life’s journey, I would like to thank Miss O’Connor, all our great teachers, SNAs & our school secretary Patricia for the most wonderful eight years.
It is true that “what we learn with pleasure we never forget”
Some of us will be going to different secondary schools. As Mrs. Trench said in our beautiful yearbook, when we meet again, “Remember to smile, say hello & stop for a chat”

A GRADUATION PRAYER FOR THE CLASS OF 2020
We Bless You as You Go
Gracious God,
look with love on all our sixth-class girls and boys.
It has been a very different end to your time with us in
Dromclough National School.
You have stayed home, worked hard, been creative,
learned new skills and remained strong.
Together, but apart, you have continued to make us proud.
Today, as we celebrate all that you have been and all that you
will become, we ask that God’s blessing will wrap each
one of you in a cloak of love and protection.
We give thanks for the last eight years.
We will always remember you, the class of 2020.
We will hold you in our hearts and in our prayers as you
take the next steps on your lifelong journey of learning.
We know that you will make the very best of your
time in your new schools.
We pray that you will always know that you are loved by God, who wants you to be the very best that you can be
so that you can set the world on fire.
May God bless you and keep you safe until we meet again.
Amen.
